Florida State University Heritage & University Archives launched a campus-wide project to encourage FSU students, staff, and faculty to document their personal experiences during the coronavirus outbreak and contribute them to the University Archives. The project leaders are Sandra Varry, Heritage & University Archivist Project implementation, and Krystal Thomas, Digital Archivist. In accordance with FSU’s University Archives Policy, the project aims to collect records related to FSU’s official response. In addition, the project will ensure that personal experiences and reactions to this challenging and historic situation are included in FSU's permanent archives. All members of the campus community are invited and encouraged to participate.
Although during the Spring semester, 2020, the project elicited strong interest and participation, as preparations began for the Fall semester, that waned. For that reason, the researchers are now ramping up their outreach.
