Can history teach us how to deal with COVID-19? Perhaps not. But it reminds us that when faced with global challenges, we need to resist the urge to focus on national solidarities. The Age of Pandemics. The Threat of Infectious Disease and the Politics of Global Health in the 20th Century is a pondcast for the BMW Center for German and European Studies. Among the numerous projects Thomas Zimmer has been involved with, he lectured on Pandemics in Global History and wrote a blog for DeGrutyer entitled "Pandemics in History: Global Solidatity is the Only Way Forward."
Thomas Zimmer's work aims at providing a broader audience as well as policymakers with historical insight and influence the way they think about and deal with the pandemic.
