Alberto Jori and his team want to elaborate the basic rules and the main principles of medical ethics for the time of Covid-19 and, more broadly, for every pandemic time. The project is born from a collaboration between the University of Tubingen, Germany, and the University of Ferrara, Italy, and consists of two interventions:
-
a theoric component, aiming to analyze the principles of the Hippocratic Oath in the light of the current pandemic
-
an applied component based on the local experience of the Pieve di Coriano Hospital, and family doctors in the Mantova area, Italy
The scope includes the definitions of norms for moments of crisis characterized by limited resources and an increasing number of patients.
Our medical-ethical codex will be applied in practical work and will have relevant practical consequences.
