This novel and dynamic video series, Pandemic Insights, asks how various scholars, artists, and partners are reflecting on the current pandemic through the lens of their research and art-making practice. The interdisciplinary team at the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies invited faculty, as well as graduate students and community partners, to reflect on the ways their research offered insight to the COVID-19 experience during the summer of 2020. A cross-disciplinary approach is vital to understanding the many ways that COVID-19 is impacting our world. How can we, for example, understand this period and the events we are all experiencing intimately and globally through the work of our colleagues?
The purpose of the project was both to invite artists and scholars to think about their work as a lens on COVID-19 and to welcome broader audiences into understanding the value of academic arts and research.
