COVID Black is an organization that recognizes the power of health data and information combined with critical and justice-oriented theoretical frameworks of Black Studies, Black Digital Humanities, Public Humanities, Medical Humanities, and Public Health to tell empowering stories about Black life that address racial health disparities.
COVID Black translates the history of race and racism in medicine and science through online modules that are directed to health care workers such as physicians. We also train people who work directly with oppressed people on how to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine in culturally sensitive ways.
